There are models that come standard with power nozzles, HEPA filters, floor brushes - the list goes on. The Miele Olympus may be the most basic machine out there but it has the same exact motor as all the other (and pricier) vacuum models. This allows you to change the motor speed by turning a knob. You can leave the machine on full power (which most people do) but if you are cleaning curtains and don't want the full power, just lower the motor speed and it won't be so powerful for your delicate items.

With this model, you can purchase other floor brushes and can even add in a HEPA filter if you'd like. You cannot add a electric power nozzle since you need an electric hose to power it. There are other models that come standard with a power nozzle if you decide you need one. If you have mostly floors and light rugs, the Miele Olympus is the right vacuum for you.
